News Update — 23 February 2009

The Arkansas League of the South has accelerated into high gear as 2009 begins! On 24 January 2009, 30 people (including 3 children) descended on Harrison Arkansas for a statewide meeting to kick off the New Year.

Two speakers presented information to the attendees. The first speaker laid out a vision and plan of action for growth for the Arkansas League of the South (ARLOS). He stated that our current situation is akin to buffalo being hunted by lionesses in Africa. When a buffalo is attacked by the pride, the other buffalo scatter. But if they would only work together, they would trample their predators.

The ARLOS must work to organise disparate groups across our beloved land that currently are not joined together in any organised manner (like the buffalo). For instance, there are currently groups in AR working to fight illegal immigration, protect the rights of home schooling families, protect Second Amendment rights, protect private property rights, etc. However, these groups are like the buffalo. That is, they are constantly attacked but their would-be allies are not enjoined with them in any organised manner. Thus they are easy prey while standing alone. These groups must realise that they have one common enemy – The Federal Government. When they do they can join together and trample the tyranny.

He asked for volunteers to form three committees:

  • Southern / Christian Heritage committee which will work to go on the offense with regards to our heritage / culture. The goal is to increase our Southern Pride by tearing down the lies propped up by modern society.
  • Education committee which will work to go on the offense organising a coalition of home school, private school, and public school families to fight the federalisation of our state education curriculum. Education curriculum (which is the content of what is taught) has always been controlled by localities. In the last 20 years, however, the federal government has encroached on the states by offering money with strings attached. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 essentially places our schools under a UN curriculum. Thus the primary objective of this committee will be to document the facts and prepare educational materials (i.e. flyers, dvd’s) that may be passed out to friends and neighbors so that our coalition will grow and so that we can eventually run the feds out of our state with regards to education curriculum.
  • Private property rights committee which will work to define and document current abuse so that flyers and recruitment materials may be prepared. Currently, for example, the EPA is promulgating regulations to levy a tax on livestock for “carbon emissions.” The tax will essentially put the small farmer out of business which is what the government seeks to do. In addition the NAIS is an effort by the feds to do the same thing. Again, materials need to be prepared so that the farmer down the road (for example) can understand why he must join our group – or lose his rights to his own farm.

He stated that if these three groups can form across the state under one umbrella (ARLOS) that our organization would be overwhelmingly large. He stated that there are currently 3 million Arkansans and then stated that at least one in three of us should be concerned with our heritage / culture, education of our children, private property rights. If that assertion is true then our coalition should have 1 million members in the state when fully formed.

If each group would simply realise that if we only joined together we could take our state government back from the D.C. puppets currently in Little Rock. Let’s stop behaving like buffalo and organise!

Lastly, he acknowledged that while our organization is currently small, if our group of roughly 20 members will recruit and spread the vision / message that we will eventually grow to 100, then to 500. To this end he then asked that each district / county set recruiting goals to increase our numbers.

The second speaker, Collin Houseal, spoke on the topic of personal secession. He stressed that the concept of secession will never become a reality until individuals, en masse, decide to “personally secede.” He stressed that we are either feeding the empire or starving it with our every action.

Finances

The ARLOS raised $260 at the Jan. 24th meeting. There was a $50 charge for the use of the meeting room, leaving $210. There was already $200 in the ARLOS account, leaving a balance of $410.

We need donations to print flyers, dvd’s, etc. Any donation you are able to give will go 100% to the cause and is greatly appreciated. Donate for yourself, your family, your posterity. That is what we are fighting for here!

Donations should be mailed to:

Current Activities

The property rights committee is currently being formed. Two individuals have volunteered and the committee will likely be completed within a few weeks as we are tailoring the meeting (referenced below) in Harrison, AR towards completing the private property rights committee.

The education committee still needs volunteers. However, the upcoming meeting in Harrison is expected to also draw a contingent which may wind up forming the committee.

The Southern Heritage / Culture committee is a committee of one at this point (ideas and volunteers are needed). However, the ARLOS leadership has approved the expenditure of creating bumper stickers which will educate the public about our beloved Confederate Battle Flag by directing them to a website which will be created soon. The bumper sticker will have a Battle Flag on it with the caption “Learn the Truth About the Flag: BigMediaLies.org” The belief is that when people read that message they will be curious and visit the website. The website will document the truth regarding the symbolism of the flag, and when they understand this we believe that they will come to love the flag and be ready to defend it themselves. This is an example of what was stated earlier in this report regarding “going on the offense to protect and defend our heritage.” We will sell the bumper stickers for $1 each so that when the supply runs out we will have the funds to print more.

State sovereignty battle – The federal government has continually overstepped their bounds since Appomattox and the states are finally fighting back! More than 20 states have introduced legislation reaffirming state sovereignty. Arkansas has recently introduced their version, HCR1011. Please call your respective state legislators (Senate and House) and ask them if they support HCR1011. We need to get our representatives to go on the record and we need them to know that this battle is of the utmost importance to us.

Recruiting / Organisation

  • Dan Wingo has been appointed as district chairman over district 2. We still need several more district chairmen. When those officers are appointed, all six districts in the state will have chairmen.
  • There will be a second recruitment meeting in Harrison (date not yet known) at the Dragon King restaurant.
  • A recruitment meeting in Springdale, AR is being scheduled for sometime in May/June. This is expected to be a large gathering based on the interest and inquiries we've received.
  • Recruiting is the most important activity that we are currently engaged in. Membership in the Arkansas League of the South has grown tremendously in recent months. Our coalition presently includes “official” League of the South members as well as individuals that do not want to be “official” but want to be a part of what we're doing. Recruit, recruit, and recruit! Let's stop behaving like the buffalo and trample the opposition!

Deo Vindice!
